Celine Dion has a bunion-inducing vice

The Canadian singer recently admitted to having an addiction to buying shoes.

Celine Dion has a bunion-inducing vice The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons reports that wearing high heels is one of the most common causes of bunions, which tend to progress with age and stem from genetic factors.

Let's hope that Celine Dion isn't predisposed to bunions or hammer toe, because the singer recently told Vanity Fair that she owns an estimated 3,000 pairs of shoes. Judging by the footwear she dons on stage, we're guessing that few of these are flats or loafers.

Dion got a little defensive when the magazine's interviewer suggested she might be a "shoe freak."

"Does that mean if you have, let’s say, 600 pairs of shoes, you’re considered a freak?" Dion asked, quoted by the news source. "O.K. I have about 3,000 pairs. Some people do drugs, and I buy shoes."

Dion is known for having one of the most popular shows in Las Vegas, raking in millions of dollars a year. Perhaps she may want to consider shelling out for some bunion splints or orthotics in a preventative effort against bunions or hammer toe as she ages.
