Easy Spirit brings life to retro ad campaign, bunioned women rejoice

For women with bunions, what could be better than a shoe that 'looks like a pump, feels like a sneaker?'

Easy Spirit brings life to retro ad campaign, bunioned women rejoice Nearly 20 years ago, Easy Spirit launched an advertising campaign featuring women playing basketball in high heels, with a jingle that touted the shoes' ability to "look like a pump, feel like a sneaker."

Now, the footwear company has dusted off the old slogan to promote its Parnella pump, part of the brand's Anti-Gravity collection.

“One of our goals for the Anti-Gravity technology was to find a way to incorporate it into dress styles to create not only the ultimate comfort pump, but a comfortable pump that looks great," said Easy Spirit spokesperson Amy Rapawy.

Taking a modern spin on the original commercial, the brand organized flash mobs on the streets of New York City that featured groups of women spontaneously breaking into a choreographed dance routine.

Women with bunions may be delighted to hear about the new lightweight, ultra-cushioned pumps. This may be ideal footwear for ladies still working on correcting their bunions or hammer toe by wearing bunion splints or orthotics.
