Payless announces release of more bunion-inducing collections
The bargain shoe store offers high fashions at a low costs, which is a boon and bane for fashionistas with sore feet.
Project Runway winner Christian Siriano and high-end designer Lela Rose will both release Payless collections in spring 2012, the shoe retailer recently announced.
The mere thought of shoes designed by these innovators may have made your bunions twinge, and rightfully so, since the collections are going to be rife with towering heels, wedges and boots.
Siriano's line is reportedly inspired by trips to exotic locales. Shoppers can expect bright coral shades mixed in with tortoise shell, metallic linens and faux-reptile materials. His collection will also feature a dramatic, sculptural boot with a platform wedge.
Rose has channeled Las Vegas for her designs, which will mix neon hues with more subdued, faded colors set atop wooden wedge heels.
"Lela and Christian create rich-looking, special pieces inspired by their creativity from the runway, and we are thrilled to be able to make these designers' unique fashions available and accessible for shoppers," said LuAnn Via, CEO and president of Payless ShoeSource.
Luckily, the collections are available at low cost, leaving fashionistas with room in their budget to invest in bunion splints or orthotics. The devices may help prevent or correct bunions or hammer toe that can occur as the result of regularly wearing high heels.
