Victoria Beckham ordered to wear flats - but not because of bunions
The former pop star was recently told by her doctors to forgo her beloved heels due to a slipped disc.
UK news source the Daily Mirror is reporting that Victoria Beckham, formerly known as Posh Spice, is being forced to wear flat shoes after injuring her back following the birth of her new daughter, Harper Seven.
The singer is rumored to be diligently looking for a pair of elegant flats to wear to her upcoming spring/summer 2012 show at New York Fashion Week.
“Although her heel-wearing wasn’t the cause of her back problems, stilettos don’t help her condition. Victoria has been frantically surfing the web for an acceptable pair of flats, ones which don’t make her look like a golf club," said an alleged friend of Beckham's, quoted by the news source.
This is not the first time Posh has experienced shoe-related foot woes. In 2009, the Daily Mail reported that she was scheduled to undergo bunion surgery to remove the bony deformities she acquired from years of wearing towering heels.
It's uncertain whether she found bunion relief with the operation. Individuals who wish to avoid the painful, costly surgery may want to consider using bunion splints or orthotics, which have been shown to help prevent or correct bunions or hammer toe.
