Bunion prevalence may soon be on the rise for Kanye West fans

The hip hop star may be teaming up with shoemaker Giuseppe Zanotti to design a line of women's footwear.

Bunion prevalence may soon be on the rise for Kanye West fans There's a rumor going around that Kanye West is in talks with designer Giuseppe Zanotti to release a line of shoes. Considering the rapper's flamboyant tastes, the line is sure to be full of bunion-inducing heels.

“[Kanye] loves learning about shoes, both the design and construction, and we’ve tried to design something together,” said Zanotti, quoted by Women's Wear Daily. “In a couple of months, he could have his own special collection out.”

The designer added that all of his creations are aimed at creating sex appeal. In fashion-speak, this translates to "towering heels."

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons has reported that high heels may cause or exacerbate foot conditions such as bunions or hammer toe, which may mean trouble for fashionistas with the bony deformities.

Luckily, bunion splints or orthotics have been known to prevent or correct bunions or hammer toe without the need for painful, costly bunion surgery
