Aretha Franklin broke her toe on a Jimmy Choo

The Queen of Soul will hobble around with a boot on one foot, high heel on the other.

Aretha Franklin broke her toe on a Jimmy Choo While high heels like those made by Jimmy Choo have been known to cause a number of painful foot conditions - like bunions, plantar fasciitis and heels spurs - soul singer Aretha Franklin recently experienced a broken toe as a result of a misstep upon a spike heel.

Last week, after performing a private concert, Franklin stumbled over a pile of designer shoes in her Dallas hotel room.

"How am I supposed to match my new Marc Jacobs gown with this wooden blue hospital shoe?" Franklin asked, quoted by the Daily Mail.

The singer recently lost 85 pounds and is well into her comeback tour.

Franklin should beware, however, that stepping back into her towering heels after her toe heals may put her at risk of bunions or hammer toe, according to WebMD. As a result, she may want to consider bringing bunion splints or orthotics on tour with her in order to avoid taking time off for painful bunion surgery.
