Domestic goddess Nigella Lawson appears to have bunions
Chef's love of high heels is a recipe for bunions
The Daily Mail is always quick to point out a celebrity bunion. This time, the news source has revealed photos of television cook and author Nigella Lawson out and about wearing sandals that reveal her protruding bunions.
Lawson has long been thought of as the ultimate domestic goddess because of her effortless cooking style, voluptuous figure and fashionable wardrobe, but the Mail reports that her love for high heels has caught up with her.
"The mother-of-two has long been a fan of towering stilettos - even admitting to wearing them in the bedroom as part of her seduction technique," wrote the Mail reporter.
The American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons has reported that bunions are often hereditary, but can be made more prominent and painful by wearing high heels. Towering shoes have a tendency to place pressure on the ball of the foot and crowd the toes, which over time may lead to bunions or hammer toe.Luckily, Lawson may not need to endure painful bunion surgery since bunion splints and orthotics have been shown to effectively prevent or treat the unsightly foot conditions.
