Bunion-friendly shoemaker teams up with Nordstrom to do good this holiday season

New Balance, Nordstrom and the charity Shoes That Fit want to give the gift of footwear this Christmas.

Bunion-friendly shoemaker teams up with Nordstrom to do good this holiday season There is no other time of year than winter when having good-quality shoes is more important. Unfortunately, many children do not have this seemingly basic necessity.

As a result, New Balance, Nordstrom and Shoes That Fit are teaming up this Christmas to help ensure that all kids have a useful present to open under the tree. Beginning on Nov. 25, shoppers can purchase a tag at Nordstrom stores for $20 that will provide a pair of brand new sneakers to a local child in need.

Additionally, the charity Shoes That Fit will help make sure that kids are well-suited for their footwear by measuring the recipients' feet.

"There are children in every community in every state who are going to school in shoes that are too small, too big or too worn out," said Roni Lomeli, executive director of Shoes That Fit.

New Balance also manufactures shoes made especially for people with bunions, which may be the perfect gift for some.

Additionally, bunion splints or orthotics make good gifts for the bunioned individuals on a Christmas list.
