Can bunion-inducing shoes provide an orgasmic experience?
Christian Louboutin continues to promote his brand by
making controversial statements to the media – but is he correct this
A recent article in the Sunday Times features an interview with shoe designer Christian Louboutin, who stated his beliefs that wearing high heels can be a rather sexy experience for women.
The shoemaker said that he spoke to an expert in France who told him that wearing a towering stiletto forces the foot to arch dramatically, which may be a suggestive position.
"She said that what is sexual in a high heel is the arch of the foot, because it is exactly the position of a woman's foot when she orgasms," Louboutin said, quoted by the news source. "So putting your foot in a heel, you are putting yourself in a possibly orgasmic situation."
A report in Australia's Courier Mail cited research from the University of Verona in Italy which suggested that wearing high heels can strengthen the legs as well as the muscles in the pelvis that are responsible for orgasms.
It appears that Louboutin may be on to something. However, that doesn't change the fact that his shoes are likely to cause bunions or hammer toe. Luckily, fashionistas can always turn to bunion splints or orthotics, which may help correct the deformities without the need for bunion surgery.
