Barneys ready to give the gift of bunions this holiday season

Upscale department store Barneys New York is using Lady Gaga as an inspiration for its holiday campaign, so it's sure to include some bunion-exacerbating heels.

Barneys ready to give the gift of bunions this holiday season Beginning in November, the flagship Barneys New York on Madison Avenue will transform its ground floor and store windows into a Santa's workshop inspired by pop star Lady Gaga.

Gaga's Workshop will feature multimedia installations and displays that meld the singer's eclectic style with classic holiday themes.

"Lady Gaga is a rare cultural phenomenon, not only because of her exceptional talents as a singer, songwriter and performer, but also with regard to her support of equality and individuality and status as a fashion icon," said Mark Lee, Barneys New York CEO.

The pop star has collaborated to develop small gifts that will be available throughout the holiday season. Additionally, 25 percent of the proceeds of featured Gaga's Workshop items will go to a charity of the singer's choice.

Individuals wanting to emulate Gaga this Christmas by presenting loved ones with towering Alexander McQueen or Vivienne Westwood heels may want to include bunion splints or orthotics with the package, as the shoes have a tendency to cause bunions or hammer toe
