Sex and the City stars oppose a prequel

Sex and the City starsSarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis have both gone on the record as saying they would like to make a third Sex and the City movie, but that the idea of a prequel - involving different actresses - may be too much of a shake-up for longtime fans, according to E! Online.

Rumors have been swirling lately about the possibility of Blake Lively playing a young Carrie Bradshaw for a prequel based on Candace Bushnell's book The Carrie Diaries.

"We're us and we've discussed our history in the show already, so for all of our fervent fans who listen to what we say, why would we rewrite that?" Davis told the news source.

Parker and Davis have been playing their respective characters of Carrie and Charlotte since the series began on HBO in 1998. While they have clearly enjoyed playing the fashionable, shoe-obsessed characters, 13 years is a long time to be running around Manhattan in towering Manolo Blahniks.

In fact, stiletto-enthusiasts will be able to tell you that wearing this kind of footwear regularly may lead to not-so-stylish bunions and hammer toe.

Luckily, bunions and hammer toe don't need to stop these ladies from continuing to play Carrie and Charlotte, as many podiatrists recommend the use of bunion splints or orthotics to prevent and correct these painful food conditions.
